{"id":2157,"date":"2024-07-18T17:47:21","date_gmt":"2024-07-18T17:47:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ehtchampions.org.uk\/ch\/?p=2157"},"modified":"2024-07-19T08:59:01","modified_gmt":"2024-07-19T08:59:01","slug":"upton-cubs-visit-loxter-ashbed-quarry","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ehtchampions.org.uk\/ch\/upton-cubs-visit-loxter-ashbed-quarry\/","title":{"rendered":"Upton Cubs visit Loxter Ashbed Quarry"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Upton Cubs visited the quarry following a week of wet, rainy weather but we were lucky that the day itself was dry. \u00a0We met up in the Farmers Arms car park (our thanks to Hannah and team). \u00a0This gave the cubs a chance to re-engineer the puddles in the car park and build an island in one of them.<\/p>\n<p>On the walk to the quarry we checked the colour of the rocks, seeing how we moved from red to yellow and back again. \u00a0At the quarry Andy explained how the rocks were laid down an awfully long time ago &#8211; way before the dinosaurs and that any fossils were likely to be small.
