Newbury Geology Group visit in April
The Newbury Geology Group visited the quarry on a damp April day. Luckily for all, the rain held off so we were able to spend some time exploring the quarry and discussing the geology of the quarry and the local area.
There was a range of levels of experience in the group and so we included simple explanations of the site and local geology and then those who wanted to went into greater detail. We then spent time exploring the quarry and discussing the wider geology of the area.
The younger members of the group spent some time checking theloose rocks on the quarry floor for fossils with some success.
The group then went onto Ledbury for lunch and did the EHT Ledbury walk.
Thank you to Tim Jones of Newbury Geology Group for supplying the photos.
