A visit from Ledbury Guides
Ledbury Guides visited Loxter Ashbed Quarry at the end of June. It was a sunny evening and we had several lively discussions.
We tried to get an idea of how old the rocks were: if a pace represented a year we would have to walk 9 time round the world to get there.
Some of the girls had done some Geology at school and were keen to show their knowledge. Others were interested in how studying Geology can help us in the modern world.
The Guides spent some time looking at the rocks through a hand lens and searching for fossils but there were no significant find for them.
