Loxter Ashbed Quarry Working Party on 28th April
Five Loxter Champions spent Saturday afternoon completing work on the entrance to the quarry started earlier in the year. We now have safer access with rails at the bottom of the steps to stop people descending headlong into the road and a small flat platform from which to cross the road. The access notice is now in place at the top of the steps.
In the quarry itself, the floor was tidied with a lot of leaves removed the bottom of the face and nettles from the quarry floor. Some work will be required to sort out the access to the right hand face but the current state of the ground made this a job for another day.

We look forward to welcoming the Woolhope Geologists Club who are due to visit on Bank Holiday Monday.
